11/10/08 Massive Wrath of the Lich King Update!
We're proud to bring you fully updated loot lists for all classes (Death Knights included!) at the eve of a new expansion
launch! The new 70-80 lists initially include notable quest loot (rare or better), 5-man instance loot, and heroic loot.
Also included are brand new level 70 talent builds focused on leveling specs. Eventually, sample builds for each class, gems,
enchants, and glyphs will be added as well.
Since WoTLK brings us the merging of many stats (such as unified spellpower, melee hit and spell crit becoming simply crit,
etc.) there will likely be some modifications to divisions for some classes (ie DPS Priests vs Healing Priests). New raid lists
will be taking these in to account and although they will follow a similar pattern as the Burning Crusade lists, expect to see
some change-ups.
In tagging loot for classes and sub-builds in respect to these changes the initial pass of data will likely see some updates as
some of the theory of loot distribution which has been used for quite some time will come under review. Some issues, such as
all classes only include the highest armor type will most likely stay. Others such as how rigid a divide should the now greatly
unified spellpower gear be distributed (the first pass rule to apply was equally rate spellpower, haste, and crit evenly between
healers and offensive caster while giving the edge to healers on Mana/5 and casters gear with Spell Hit) may be changing.
We welcome your input on such issues and questions / concerns about class specific loot.
We've archived the Burning Crusade lists just as we did for Classic WoW, and we'll be adding Death Knight loot to the 60-70 range
in the near future. We will not however be adding Death Knights retroactively to Burning Crusade raid lists since their time has
now come and gone.
Finally, realize that much of this data has been collected from the Beta. There will undoubtedly be changes since then, and you
can expect to see a great deal of changes for loot as live data becomes available. Please feel free to
contact us with corrections, comments, concern/praise about the new lists and upcoming features and format of content.
